Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Autism Technician to provide in-home and community behavioral services under supervision. The role supports the treatment plan, documents patient progress, and contributes to performance improvement activities within Mercy Behavioral Health Services.

The position requires completion of autism orientation and CPR/BLS within stated timelines, along with maintaining a valid driver’s license where applicable. Flexible Pool/PRN scheduling is available to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides in-home and community behavioral services to patients with autism as directed in the treatment plan.
• Participates as a treatment team member by attending meetings, providing feedback about patient progress, and sharing impressions of patient status.
• Documents observations and care provided in the medical record.
• Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising Provider.
• Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
• Maintains current de-escalation training and uses de-escalation techniques daily.
