Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks an Autism Technician to deliver behavioral services in the autism program under supervision. The role involves home and community-based work, contributing to the treatment plan, and documenting progress in medical records.

The position requires CPR/BLS within 90 days, completion of 40 hours autism orientation, and a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving records. Schedule is 20 hours/week, days, with pay range listed.

Qualifications

• Must complete 40 hours of specified orientation on autism.
• CPR or BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record if driving Mercyhealth vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provides in-home and community behavioral services to patients with autism as directed in the treatment plan.
• Participates as a treatment team member by attending meetings, providing feedback about patient progress, and sharing impressions of patient status.
• Documents observations and care provided in the medical record.
• Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising Provider.
• Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
• Maintains current de-escalation training and utilizes de-escalation techniques daily.
