Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Autism Technician to provide in-home and community behavioral services to patients in the autism program, under supervision and as outlined in the treatment plan. The role requires attending team meetings, documenting observations in the medical record, and maintaining de-escalation training daily, with a flexible pool/PRN daytime schedule.

Must complete 40 hours orientation on autism; CPR/BLS certification within 90 days, and hold a valid driver's license with a clean

Qualifications

• Must complete 40 hours of specified orientation on autism and application of techniques.
• Basic computer skills are required to perform this job successfully.
• CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record as per Mercyhealth policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides in-home and community behavioral services to patients with autism as directed in the treatment plan.
• Participates as a treatment team member by attending meetings, providing feedback about patient progress, and sharing impressions of patient status.
• Documents observations and care provided in the medical record.
• Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising Provider.
• Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
• Maintains current de-escalation training and utilizes de-escalation techniques daily.
