Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of health care billing/authorization experience.
• Knowledge of home care framework and third-party reimbursement.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn industry software.
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and provide customer service to staff and insurers.
• Run and utilize computer reports regularly.
• Observe confidentiality and safeguard patient information.
• Provide updates to management on authorization status for patients.
• Ensure authorization is obtained and tracked for pre-authorization requirements.
• Implement agency policies and procedures within the Authorization department.
• Document all authorization requests clearly.
• Assist in orientation and education of Authorization staff.
• Notifies supervisor of problems and helps provide solutions.
• Complete ongoing education to maintain competency.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be familiar with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service delivery
• Have experience with insurance authorizations, referrals, intake coordination, or related administrative functions
• Be highly organized and detail-oriented
• Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills
• Be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Work independently while collaborating with remote and clinic-based team members

This position plays a critical role in supporting our clients, families, and clinical teams while helping ensure efficient access to services.

Responsibilities

• Run and utilize computer reports regularly
• Observe confidentiality and safeguard all patient related information
• Provide accurate, complete updates to Agency management on status of authorizations for all patients requiring treatment authorization
• Ensures authorization is obtained and tracked for all patients whose insurance requires pre-authorization
• Is responsible for seeing that objectives are implemented, follows, and promotes agency policies and procedures
• Ensure all authorization requests are documented clearly
• Participate in the orientation and education of other employees as relates to Authorization department
• Observes confidentiality and safeguard all patient related information
• Notifies Supervisor of problems in a timely manner and works to help provide solutions
• Completes ongoing education requirements and demonstrates ongoing competency in required areas
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED
• Minimum of one year of experience in Health Care billing and/or authorization practices
• General knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home care
• Sound knowledge of health care operations and third-party reimbursement
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applications
• Solid organizational skills, thoroughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi-task while prioritizing effectively
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
