Job summary

SpringHealth Behavioral Health and Integrated Care is hiring an ABA Authorization Specialist to join our team in a hybrid or remote role. You will support access to services by handling authorizations, referrals, and intake coordination for ABA services across multiple states.

The ideal candidate has experience with insurance authorizations and healthcare billing, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently with remote and clinic teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in health care billing and/or authorizations.
• Knowledge of home care framework and operations.
• Understanding of third-party reimbursement in health care.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and provide excellent customer service to staff and insurance representatives.
• Run and utilize computer reports regularly.
• Observe confidentiality and safeguard patient information.
• Provide updates to Agency management on status of authorizations.
• Ensure authorization is obtained and tracked for all pre-authorization needs.
• Ensure objectives are implemented and agency policies followed.
• Document authorization requests clearly.
• Participate in orientation and education of other employees in Authorization.
• Notifies Supervisor of problems and works to provide solutions.
• Complete ongoing education and maintain competency in required areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Be familiar with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service delivery
• Have experience with insurance authorizations, referrals, intake coordination, or related administrative functions
• Be highly organized and detail-oriented
• Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills
• Be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Work independently while collaborating with remote and clinic-based team members

This position plays a critical role in supporting our clients, families, and clinical teams while helping ensure efficient access to services.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and provide excellent customer service to our professional staff and insurance representatives
• Run and utilize computer reports regularly
• Observe confidentiality and safeguard all patient related information
• Provide accurate, complete updates to Agency management on status of authorizations for all patients requiring treatment authorization
• Ensures authorization is obtained and tracked for all patients whose insurance requires pre-authorization
• Is responsible for seeing that objectives are implemented, follows, and promotes agency policies and procedures
• Ensure all authorization requests are documented clearly
• Participate in the orientation and education of other employees as relates to Authorization department
• Observes confidentiality and safeguard all patient related information
• Notifies Supervisor of problems in a timely manner and works to help provide solutions
• Completes ongoing education requirements and demonstrates ongoing competency in required areas
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED
• Minimum of one year of experience in Health Care billing and/or authorization practices
• General knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home care
• Sound knowledge of health care operations and third-party reimbursement
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applications
• Solid organizational skills, thoroughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi-task while prioritizing effectively
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
