Job summary

UNLV Health is looking for an Authorization & Referral Specialist to handle referrals and treatment authorizations across multiple locations. You will process, submit, schedule and follow up on referrals, tracking by program and payer, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements include at least two years in the medical field, front-office experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and familiarity with health plans, eligibility and CPT/ICD codes.

Qualifications

• Two years in the medical field including front office, appointment scheduling and referral authorization.
• Bilingual English/Spanish requirement.

• Read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Use of computer required; typing speed 35 wpm minimum.
• Experience with Seriously Mentally Ill population preferred.

Salary Range: $18.10 To $21.63 Hourly

The Authorization and Referral Specialist is responsible for the timely processing, submitting, scheduling and follow up of referrals and request for treatment authorizations as required by payer. The Authorization and Referral Specialist tracks existing referrals by program and payer. The Authorization and Referral Specialist position requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. Individual must also be flexible, organized and must be able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
