Lighthouse ABA is seeking an Insurance Coordinator to own eligibility and authorization for our ABA services. You will verify benefits, secure initial authorizations, and track re-authorizations to prevent lapse in care, coordinating with payers, clinicians, and families.

This role demands organized, detail-oriented professionals who manage deadlines, communicate clearly, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records in our practice management systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in insurance verification or authorizations in healthcare.
• Knowledge of eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and payer requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with insurance portals, EHR/practice-management systems, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Verify eligibility and benefits for ABA services and confirm new coverage changes.
• Prepare and submit initial authorization requests for assessments and treatment.
• Track active authorizations, units, expirations, and initiate re-authorizations timely.
• Coordinate with BCBAs and clinical team to assemble documentation for authorizations.
• Monitor status, escalate delays, and respond to payer requests for information.
• Serve as primary contact with the insurance team and inform internal teams of status.
