Job summary

SonarSource, based in Austin, TX, seeks a Senior Cloud/SRE Engineering Manager to lead Cloud and Site Reliability Engineers, delivering reliable, secure cloud platforms for SonarQube Cloud and Server in a fast-growing, mission‑driven environment.

You will drive high engineering standards, own incident response, automate toil, mentor engineers, advance observability, and collaborate with cross‑functional squads and security teams while supporting recruitment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with a strong SRE/Cloud Ops focus.
• Deep DevOps mindset; experience managing mission-critical shared services (e.g., Aurora DBs, OpenSearch).
• Advanced knowledge of AWS and large-scale infrastructure management.
• IaC coding with Python, CDK or Terraform; able to perform rigorous code reviews for infra.
• Observability patterns (logging, tracing, metrics) and Disaster Recovery/BC planning.
• Agile methodologies and cloud cost optimization (FinOps).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers.
• Set high engineering standards for reliability, performance, and security.
• Oversee on-call, incident response, and reduce toil through automation.
• Foster blameless post-mortems and share architectural insights.
• Collaborate with value stream squads to meet developer needs with governance.
• Define squad vision aligned with platform roadmap, focusing on resiliency and cost.
• Partner with Hiring to recruit engineers and improve the process.
• Lead by example with servant leadership and high-stakes decision-making.
