Job summary

Sonar, a leader in AI code review and verification, seeks a Senior Security Engineer in Austin, TX to guide secure-by-design architecture and security automation. You will partner with infrastructure and product teams to strengthen cloud security, handle vulnerability management, and support customer security concerns.

Ideal candidates have hands-on security engineering experience, strong AWS knowledge, and ability to communicate risk to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on security engineering experience.
• Cloud architectures, AWS-focused.
• Review architectures and embed security requirements into engineering/operational workflows.
• Secure modern application environments including AI features.
• Vulnerability investigation, prioritization, remediation management.
• Scripting and automation using Python or Bash.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders on risk and recommendations.
• Experience with SaaS environments; Wiz, CrowdStrike, and Google Workspace are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure-by-design solutions with product/platform teams.
• Review cloud, network and endpoint architectures for security requirements.
• Improve security across SDLC, cloud environments, and supporting services.
• Investigate security findings, prioritize risk, drive remediation, and close issues.
• Develop security projects and evaluate new tools and capabilities.
• Drive data leakage prevention across the company.
• Address customer security concerns related to Sonar products and cloud platforms.
• Lead security incident investigations, containment and post-incident follow-up.
• Review threat intelligence and suggest practical mitigations.
• Contribute to security patterns and engineering guidance to ease secure paths for teams.
