Job summary

Colorado Community College System (CCCS)—Auraria Campus Early Learning Center—Kitchen Assistant is a work-study role in Denver. The Kitchen Aide will assist in a fast-paced kitchen, supporting the Lead cook and Chef, with meals provided in a classroom setting.

Ideal candidates are eligible for financial aid, have basic kitchen knowledge, and demonstrate reliability and teamwork in a student-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Be financial aid eligible, which includes having a complete FA file, meeting SAP and enrolled 6 hours+ towards degree.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Kitchen Aide will assist the Chef with the overall operation of the kitchen. Meals are provided to children during the day, and they eat family style in their classrooms.

Will help Lead cook with washing dishes, cleaning, setting up carts for lunch, and filling in when Lead is out.

Competencies/KSAs:

Student will gain hands on experience working in a fast-paced professional kitchen. Start with basic skills on cleaning and maintaining the kitchen which is essential for the kitchen to function.

Minimum Qualifications:

Be financial aid eligible, which includes having a complete FA file, meeting SAP and enrolled 6 hours+ towards degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of kitchen is required. Background in culinary arts preferred, but not necessary.
