Job summary

The New York State Department of Transportation seeks Auditor Trainees and Auditors to perform contract audits and evaluations for NYSDOT under the NY HELPS program. Duties include pre-award evaluations of engineering firms' indirect costs, close-out audits of contracts, preparation of audit findings reports, and monitoring of Federal fund recipients' compliance with audit requirements.

The position is based in Albany and reports to an Auditor 2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation OR bachelor's degree with 24 semester credit hours in accounting/auditing/taxation
• For Auditor Trainee 2: one year of professional accounting/auditing or financial auditing experience
• For Auditor 1: two years of professional accounting/auditing or financial auditing experience, or master's degree with one year experience, or current CPA license
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Experience must include responsibility for design, review, analysis and management of accounting systems
