NYS Department of Transportation seeks an Auditor Trainee/Auditor 1 to perform audits and evaluations for complex transportation contracts under NY HELPS. You will conduct pre-award evaluations of indirect cost rates, perform close-out audits, prepare narrative reports, and ensure compliance with federal and state audit requirements.

The role may involve reviewing sub-recipients' audits, assisting with DBE certifications, and occasional travel.

Qualifikationen

• Auditing or contract auditing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards.
• Eligibility for NY HELPS or 55 b/c or permanent competitive appointment.
• Ability to work in the United States and obtain/work authorization.

Aufgaben

• Perform pre-award evaluations of indirect cost (overhead) rates for engineering firms in compliance with FAR Cost Principles.
• Conduct close-out audits of contracts with engineering firms, railroads, utilities, and others to verify allowability of costs.
• Prepare narrative reports of audit findings and recommendations.
• Ensure sub-recipients have filed Federal and NYS Single Audits and implemented corrective actions.
• Assist in review of Personal Net Worth for DBE certifications.
• Occasional travel will be required.
