  • Assist with powertrain teardowns and work with measuring/production tools.
  • Cross-train to back-up other quality personnel as needed.
  • Maintain quality data/files and ensure inspection equipment functions properly.

Job Summary

To ensure that all products shipped to the consumer meet or exceed that consumer's expectations. To aid other departments in the organization in improving the function and performance of all aspects of our business. To execute production powertrain dynamometer testing and quality verification activities to ensure motorcycle powertrains meet established performance, reliability, and quality standards prior to release to downstream manufacturing operations and customers. Reporting of audit findings in a professional and accurate manner to facilitate improvement in quality, productivity and safety.

Leadership & Daily Operations
  • Configure, operate, and monitor motorcycle powertrain dynamometer equipment in accordance with established test procedures and safety requirements.
  • Evaluate engine and transmission performance characteristics including abnormal noise, vibration, leaks, power output, and other indicators of nonconformance.
  • Assist with powertrain teardowns.
  • Work with measuring and production tools.
  • Cross train in other quality positions to back-up or assist other quality personnel as necessary.
  • Maintain or input quality data/files as required.
  • Ensure quality inspection equipment is working properly.
  • Provide input into improving existing audit procedures.
  • Work overtime or vary working hours as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and corporate safety standards within department and company.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical diploma or equivalent training preferred
Minimum Work Experience Required
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical testing, quality inspection, engine testing, powertrain assembly, or a related technical field preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with internal combustion engine operation and powertrain systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with parts, tolerances, dimensions, problem areas, various inspection equipment, and quality terminology preferred
  • Must have a performance history of quality conscious work, good attendance and safe work habits
  • Ability to maintain product confidentiality
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills and communications skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
  • Bend, twist, turn, kneel, squat, reach, push, and pull as required to perform quality operations.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Push or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Use air/power/vibrating tools.
  • Stand and walk for the duration of assigned shift.
