Job summary

City of Austin’s Office of the City Auditor is seeking an Auditor I to support performance audits, investigations, and special projects. The role involves planning, data analysis, interviews with clients, and delivering concise written and oral presentations.

Hybrid-remote work is offered with in-person collaboration days twice per month, and residency in Texas within a 90-minute drive from downtown Austin is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of Government Auditing Standards.
• Experience with performance auditing and municipal programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and manages activities for audits and projects.
• Develops objective scope and methodology for services.
• Conducts interviews with external clients to gather information.
• Collects and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data.
• Documents information and conclusions clearly.
• Develops written summaries and delivers presentations.
• Provides feedback on work of team members.
