Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking an Auditor I to join the Office of the City Auditor. The role involves performing performance audits, investigations, and special projects to evaluate city programs for effectiveness, efficiency, and equity.

Hybrid work is allowed with in-person collaboration twice a month, and residency in Texas is required. The successful candidate will analyze records, interview clients, collect data, and prepare concise written summaries, reports, and presentations for City

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of Government Auditing Standards and performance audit processes.
• Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and provide conclusions.
• Ability to learn and apply applicable laws and regulations.
• Ability to maintain objectivity and professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and manages activities for audits and projects.
• Develops objective, scope, and methodology for the service that will be provided.
• Conducts interviews and meetings with external clients to elicit useful, relevant, and reliable information.
• Collects and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data, extracting information that is significant to the project.
• Documents information and conclusions in an organized and useful manner.
• Develops clear, concise, timely, and accurate written summaries.
