Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking an Auditor I to join the Office of the City Auditor. This role participates in evaluating programs for effectiveness, efficiency, and equity, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

The position emphasizes performance audits, data analysis, and clear reporting to support City Council decisions. Hybrid-remote work is eligible with in-person collaboration days twice per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge of Government Auditing Standards preferred.
• Ability to apply laws, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and manages activities for audits and projects.
• Develops objective scope and methodology for audits.
• Conducts interviews with external clients to gather information.
• Collects and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data.
• Documents information and conclusions in an organized manner.
• Develops clear written summaries and delivers presentations.
