Job summary

The Department of the Auditor General in Pennsylvania is seeking an Auditor 4 to supervise county audits and ensure proper collection and remittance of fines, costs, taxes, and surcharges. The role focuses on mentorship, data management, and applying auditing standards.

Telework may be available to a Pennsylvania-resident candidate with approved remote work location. In-person reporting to Harrisburg HQ is possible if telework is not available, with details provided during interview.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year experience as Auditor 3, Liquor Store Examiner 3, or a Management Trainee; or
• Bachelor's degree with four years of accounting/auditing experience, including one year of supervisory experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training including a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise county audits and ensure fines, costs, fees, taxes, restitution, and surcharges are properly assessed, collected, receipted, and remitted.
• Mentor and train audit staff, empowering teams and building teamwork.
• Perform legal research and apply auditing standards to work
• Locate, evaluate, and analyze records and data related to audit papers and reports
• Make non-policy decisions within the established audit program
