Job summary

The Department of the Auditor General (DAG) is seeking an Auditor 4 to supervise county audits and ensure accurate assessment and remittance of fines, costs, taxes, and surcharges. The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring staff, and applying auditing standards.

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields and have relevant accounting/auditing experience, with a path to telework from a PA-approved location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business, computer science, data analytics, finance, economics, information technology, math, or a closely related field.
• One year experience as an Auditor 3, Liquor Store Examiner 3, or a Management Trainee; or four years of accounting/auditing experience including supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination including a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Supervise county audits and ensure fines, costs, fees, taxes, restitution, and surcharges are properly assessed, collected, receipted, and remitted.
• Mentor and train audit staff; provide on-the-job training and teamwork.
• Apply laws, regulations, guidelines, and auditing standards to audit work; perform data reviews and analysis.
