Job summary

The Department of the Auditor General (DAG) seeks an Auditor 4 to supervise county audits and ensure proper assessment and remittance of fines, costs, taxes, and surcharges. Telework may be available with conditions; otherwise report to the Harrisburg area headquarters in PA.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related fields and relevant auditing experience, with preferred certifications such as CPA or CIA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with major in accounting, business, computer science, data analytics, finance, economics, IT, or math
• One year experience as Auditor 3, Liquor Store Examiner 3, or a Management Trainee OR four years of accounting/auditing experience including supervisory experience OR any equivalent combination including a bachelor’s degree in the listed fields.

Responsibilities

• Supervise county audits and ensure fines, costs, fees, taxes, restitution, and surcharges are properly assessed and remitted.
• Research laws, regulations, guidelines, and auditing standards and apply them to audit work.
• Locate, evaluate, and analyze records and other information.
• Create, input, access, and retrieve data related to audit papers and reports.
• Make non-policy program decisions within the audit framework.
