Job summary

Progressive regonal CPA firm in Irvine, CA seeks an Audit Manager with a State and Local Government specialization. This role offers a fast track to Director or Partnership, a reasonable work-life balance, and a hybrid work environment.

The Manager is the liaison between the Partner, client, and staff, overseeing multiple audits, budgeting, staffing, and staff development while expanding client relationships and business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• At least five years of experience in public accounting - specifically in the public sector including auditing state and local governments.
• Holds a current and valid CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Managing all phases of an audit or review engagement on multiple engagements at one time.
• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year and build client relationships.
• Apprises engagement Director or Partner of important developments and issues.
• Demonstrates proficiency in technical skills and application of professional standards.
• Ensure engagements are properly scheduled and scoped.
• Understand and apply firm's audit approach.
• Create and track budgets for engagements and communicate variances.
• Identify opportunities for scope expansion and new business.
• Anticipate problem areas and prepare questions.
• Review financial statements and client deliverables.
• Direct, train, and review staff and seniors.
• Participate in Business Development efforts.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Five years public accounting experience

CPA license
