You will lead audits from planning through completion, oversee deliverables, and guide staff to ensure quality and profitability, while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s preferred.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • 6+ years of recent public accounting audit experience.
  • Prior experience supervising engagement teams.
  • Experience serving clients in Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Distribution & Logistics, or Employee Benefit Plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit, assurance, and accounting engagements from planning through completion.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, managing expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Review workpapers and financial statements while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and applicable professional standards.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and auditing matters, including ERISA/DOL for Employee Benefit Plan engagements.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff while managing multiple engagements, budgets, and profitability.
  • Build and strengthen client relationships through exceptional service and proactive communication.
  • Support business development initiatives through networking, proposals, and industry involvement.
  • Stay current on accounting, auditing, and industry developments through continuing professional education.

Overview

We are hiring for a well-established CPA firm client seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead and manage audit and assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of middle-market clients. This role focuses primarily on Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Distribution & Logistics, and Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) engagements, while also offering exposure to additional industries.

The ideal candidate is a strong client advisor, technical leader, and mentor with public accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit, assurance, and accounting engagements from planning through completion.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, managing expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Review workpapers and financial statements while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and applicable professional standards.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and auditing matters, including cost accounting and ERISA/DOL compliance for Employee Benefit Plan engagements.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff while managing multiple concurrent engagements, budgets, and profitability.
  • Build and strengthen client relationships through exceptional service and proactive communication.
  • Support business development initiatives through networking, proposals, and industry involvement.
  • Stay current on accounting, auditing, and industry developments through continuing professional education.
