Job summary

Brilliant®, a well-established public accounting firm in Chicago, seeks an experienced Audit Manager to lead engagements from planning through completion in a hybrid work environment. You will manage client relationships across diverse industries and mentor staff to deliver high-quality audits.

You will review workpapers, stay current with GAAP/GAAS standards, and identify opportunities for service expansion while ensuring engagements meet deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
• Experience managing audit engagements across multiple industries.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff development experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute audit, review, and compilation engagements across multiple industries.
• Oversee fieldwork and ensure engagements are completed on time and within budget.
• Review workpapers, financial statements, and disclosures prepared by staff.
• Identify accounting and auditing issues, research applicable standards, and develop solutions.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, building and maintaining relationships.
• Supervise, train, and mentor audit staff and senior associates.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
• Identify opportunities for additional client services and process improvements.

A well-established public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its growing assurance practice. This is a strong opportunity for a seasoned audit professional to take on engagement leadership across a diverse client base, while working in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

About the Role

The Audit Manager will oversee audit engagements from planning through completion, manage client relationships, and play a key role in developing staff. This role offers significant ownership of engagements along with exposure to a broad range of industries.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute audit, review, and compilation engagements across multiple industries
• Oversee fieldwork and ensure engagements are completed on time and within budget
• Review workpapers, financial statements, and disclosures prepared by staff
• Identify accounting and auditing issues, research applicable standards (GAAP/GAAS), and develop solutions
