Job summary

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required.

  • Strong client-service skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with accounting/audit software and Microsoft Office.
  • Some tax experience is beneficial but not required.

  • Research accounting issues, evaluate internal procedures, and identify risks.
  • Investigate irregularities and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Prepare initial drafts of audit reports and related financial statements.
  • Participate in regular client meetings and travel locally as needed.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior / Manager to join a collaborative public accounting team. The role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable working independently while ensuring engagements are completed accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead audit engagements from planning through completion and communicate with staff, managers, partners, and clients.
  • Manage audit fieldwork, schedules, and assigned team members to meet engagement deadlines.
  • Perform audits, reviews, compilations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Support engagements for nonprofit organizations, for-profit companies, employee benefit plans, construction companies, and entrepreneurial businesses.
  • Review staff work, provide guidance, and assist with team development.
  • Research accounting issues, evaluate internal procedures, and identify potential business process risks.
  • Investigate irregularities and recommend solutions to mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Prepare initial drafts of audit reports and related financial statements.
  • Participate in regular face-to-face client meetings and travel throughout the surrounding region as needed.
  • Remain hands-on with fieldwork and engagement responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications

  • Ability to travel locally for client engagements.
