Job summary

Truist Audit Services Director will coordinate and lead a team delivering risk-based internal audit assurance for the Audit Committee and Executive Management. You will shape a dynamic audit plan, monitor business units, and ensure high-quality work reflecting industry best practices.

The role requires strong leadership, deep banking knowledge, and robust communication with senior management to drive risk oversight and continuous improvement across Truist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business or equivalent education and related training.
• Ten years of progressive audit, risk, or examiner experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of banking, risk management, and audit practices.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication with senior management and stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or CPA.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage a comprehensive audit assurance program for assigned business units.
• Lead and coordinate audit activities to ensure high quality results on time.
• Directly manage a team of audit professionals and ensure plan completion.
• Develop mutually beneficial relationships with senior management of assigned units.
• Analyze processes and controls for adequacy and compliance with laws and policies.
• Review and approve audit reports for clarity and relevance.
• Monitor risk assessments and lead business monitoring initiatives.
• Serve as audit SME for assigned business units.
