Job summary

USAA in North Carolina seeks an experienced lead for audit data analytics to design and execute analytics projects across assigned audits, embedding data-driven solutions into risk processes.

You will collaborate with business analytics consultants and audit teams to embed use cases, automate reporting, and drive continuous analytics within governance and controls environments. Strong communication and advanced analytics skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; 4 additional years may substitute for the degree.
• 6 years of experience with analytic coding techniques, visualization tools, and dashboards.
• 3 years of experience using SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, RPA or similar tools.
• 3 years of data analytics in an Audit or Controls function.
• 2 years of building visualization analytics for audits or controls.
• Experience with databases, data architecture, data modeling, and data loads.
• Strong communication to leadership on control issues and solutions.
• Master's degree in Data Science preferred.

Job description

• Lead and execute audit data analytics for assigned areas within Audit services
• Identify opportunities to integrate data analytics and solutions across the Audit department
• Define use cases and collaborate with business analytics consultants and audit teams to embed solutions into processes
• Identify continuous analytics and automation solutions within assigned CoSA audits
• Execute data strategy and transformation aligned with Audit business objectives
• Help plan and organize the innovation pipeline
• Provide strategic updates to audit data analytics leadership and audit leadership teams
• Participate in or lead data analytics discussions throughout the audit lifecycle with Audit and business partners
• Engage with peers, managers, and leaders across the enterprise and advise leadership
• Present data analytics results and insights to audit and business partners
• Execute data analytics within assigned audits and operationalize data-driven recommendations
• Develop and incorporate visualization techniques for clear communication to less technical audiences
• Apply advanced business, analytical, and technical knowledge to complex audit and business objectives
• Use innovative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and recommend insight-to-action changes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline; 4 additional years of related experience may substitute for the degree
• 6 years of experience with analytic coding techniques, visualization tools, and creating reporting dashboards
• 3 years of experience in SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, RPA, or other data analysis tools
• 3 years of experience working on data and analytics in an Audit or Controls functional business area
• 2 years of experience building visualization analytics to present data scenarios and storytelling in an Audit or other Control function
• Experience with databases, data architecture, data modeling, and data loads
• Ability to proactively identify issues and propose resolution options
• Proficiency analyzing multiple data sources to derive insights toward audit objectives
• Experience building continuous reporting and/or automation solutions supporting risk identification
• Familiarity with audit or Governance Risk and Compliance software such as Archer
• Knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry and applicable regulations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills delivering actionable feedback to management on potential control issues and solutions
• Audit or other risk management experience
• Master's degree in Data Science preferred
• Experience working with business and audit partners in complex data environments
• Experience in Credit Risk or Credit Portfolio management
• Experience developing or deploying AI solutions in a regulated environment
• Advanced Tableau skills and experience with Snowflake
• Experience guiding and coaching team members in cross-matrix teams
• Working knowledge of statistical and data mining analysis tools, relational databases, and programming languages in a Big Data environment
• US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner
