Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager for a growing Midwest CPA firm. You will lead audit engagements, supervise teams, and deliver high-quality financial reporting for privately held and middle-market clients in a collaborative, relationship-driven environment.

The role combines technical excellence with development of staff, and offers a flexible hybrid schedule, a clear path to partnership, and opportunities to expand services across the firm’s expanding footprint in the Midwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA license required or actively pursuing licensing
• 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a focus on audit and assurance
• Prior experience supervising and developing professional staff
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client service skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Lead assurance engagements from planning through completion
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
• Identify accounting, financial reporting, and operational risks
• Provide recommendations to improve internal controls, processes, and financial reporting practices
• Review financial statements and related disclosures for accuracy and compliance
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and profitability
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff
• Review workpapers and provide constructive feedback
• Facilitate technical training and on-the-job development
• Staffing, scheduling, and workload management across engagements
• Apply and interpret U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and other applicable standards
• Research and resolve accounting and auditing issues
• Ensure engagement quality and compliance with firm methodology
• Stay current on emerging accounting and regulatory developments
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Identify opportunities to expand service offerings
• Participate in networking and business development activities
• Support the firm's growth initiatives and community presence
