CLA is a top 10 national professional services firm seeking an Audit Associate to join our State and Local Government (SLG) practice in Southern New England. Our SLG team serves over 2100 local, county, and state agencies with about 600 professionals.

The role involves performing audits, supporting engagements, and communicating results to supervisors, with potential to direct small audits as you gain experience. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
1 year of relevant experience preferred (internships may be acceptable).
CPA or eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred.
General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting.
Proficiency with MS Office products.

Responsibilities

Perform detail audits, reviews, and other assurance services for clients.
Support multiple client engagements of varying size and complexity, on time and within budget, and communicate progress.
Complete assigned portions of engagements with accuracy and within tight time frames.
Interact with clients to gather information for timely wrap-up.
Audit complex areas/transactions and prepare financial statements; may direct small audits.
