Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Associate to join our State and Local Government practice in Southern New England. You will perform detailed audits, assist with reviews, and contribute to quality assurance for government clients.

You will support multiple client engagements, communicate progress to supervisors, and help prepare financial statements and reports while gaining experience on smaller engagements under guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 1 year of relevant audit experience preferred (internships may count).
• SLG industry experience is a plus.
• CPA or eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting required.
• Proficiency with internal software systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform detail audits, reviews, some compilations, and other assurance services.
• Support multiple client engagements of varying size and complexity, on time and within budget.
• Communicate progress and audit results to supervisors.
• Complete assigned portions with accuracy within tight time frames.
• Interact with clients to gather information for timely wrap-up.
• Audit complex areas and prepare financial statements and related reports.
• Collaborate with managers to ensure effective service delivery.
