Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Associate to join our State and Local Government (SLG) practice in Southern California. The role involves performing audits, reviews, and related assurance services for local, state, and government clients, with opportunities to work on multiple engagements and interact directly with clients.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and CPA eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1 year of relevant experience required (internships may qualify).
• CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detail work of audits, reviews, and other assurance services for clients.
• Support multiple client engagements of varying size and complexity, on time and within budget, and communicate progress to supervisors.
• Complete assigned portions of engagements with accuracy within tight time frames.
• Interact with clients to gather information for timely engagement wrap-up.
• Audit complex areas/transactions and prepare financial statements and related reports; may direct small audits at the two-year level.
• Collaborate with managers to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships.
• Get the opportunity to work with many great clients.
