Job summary

BPM LLP in San Francisco is seeking an Assurance Associate I to join our audit team, gaining exposure to diverse industries including Financial Services, Real Estate, Nonprofit, and more.

You will work with a supportive coach and buddy, build client relationships, and develop your auditing skills while staying current with GAAP and GAAS standards. A CPA path is encouraged as part of our collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics (BS/BA/MSA/MST/Certificate Program)
• Foundational accounting knowledge (GAAP and GAAS)
• Demonstrated interest in CPA educational licensure and ability to sit for CPA exam

Responsibilities

• Using your foundation in accounting, learn and perform audit procedures to assess the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
• Assist in evaluating and testing the effectiveness of internal control systems implemented by clients, working with the team to deliver a quality product within the client’s timeframe
• Build relationships with clients, respond to client inquiries and concerns, and proactively consider ways to better serve audit clients’ needs
• Analyze financial statements and related disclosures to identify any material misstatements or discrepancies and take appropriate corrective actions
• Review and examine client financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Continuously develop your skills and knowledge in auditing and pursue CPA designation
