Gross Mendelsohn & Associates, P.A. seeks an experienced Accounting & Audit Supervisor in Baltimore to lead engagements from planning through completion.

The role involves mentoring staff, coordinating with Partners, and delivering high-quality audit, tax, and accounting services to a diverse client base. You will manage multiple engagements, communicate with clients, and contribute to business development while expanding your technical skills in a collaborative, full-service CPA environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5+ years of audit and accounting experience in a public accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of audits, reviews, and compilations.
• Experience managing engagements and supervising accounting professionals.
• CPA license or a desire to obtain one preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead & supervise engagements: audits, reviews, and compilations from planning through completion.
• Manage client engagements, deadlines, and budgets; ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Prepare and review financial statements, workpapers, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review Form 990, corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
• Train, mentor, delegate work to staff, and provide feedback.
• Build client relationships with proactive, professional service.
• Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and reporting matters.
• Coordinate with leadership to resolve engagement issues and deliver solutions.
• Support business development and identify opportunities for services.
• Leverage technology to improve efficiency and engagement quality.
• Travel to client sites within the DMV area with occasional overnight travel.
