Job description

Position Summary

The Medical Faculty Associates at George Washington University is seeking experienced audiologists to join our growing team. We seek a clinical audiologist with academic interests who is looking for a long-term career. The position involves work in both the D.C. and Reston, VA offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administering diagnostic audiologic tests such as hearing tests, ABR, VNG, and VEMP.
  • Providing hearing aid selection, fittings, and cochlear implant services.
  • Counseling patients on test results and hearing care options.
  • Performing ABR testing, VNG, immittance measurements, and audiologic evaluations.
  • Providing amplification services, including hearing aid assessment, fittings, real ear measurements, troubleshooting, and follow-up.
  • Evaluating cochlear implant candidacy, device selection, activation, and follow-up.
  • Assisting in the development of the cochlear implant center.
  • Evaluating, selecting, activating, and following up on osseointegrated devices.
  • Performing Dix-Hallpike and Epley maneuvers.
  • Interpreting test results and coordinating care with physicians and other providers.
  • Completing chart notes and communicating with referring physicians.
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors and providing excellent patient care.
  • Leading educational in-services and presenting lectures on audiology topics (occasional).
  • Communicating results and recommendations effectively.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • AuD degree and ASHA certification or eligibility.
  • Active audiology licenses in DC and Virginia, including hearing aid license.
  • Preferably five years of audiology experience, including diagnostic, hearing aid, cochlear implant, and vestibular testing.
  • Dependability and organization skills.
  • Bilingualism is a plus.
