Overview:

Sentara Evelyn Byrd Health Center is now hiring a Full-Time Audiologist in Harrisonburg, VA!

Hours:Monday-Friday, Dayshift 8a-5p. NO NIGHTS, HOLIDAYS or WEEKENDS!

Overview

A Doctor of Audiology will provide complete diagnostic audiologic evaluations, vestibular evaluation, hearing aid dispensing, and auditory rehabilitation services to patients, including diagnosing hearing disorders and providing therapy for patients. Evaluate comprehensive medical information to theorize the source of pathology. Make a preliminary diagnosis for review by a Medical Doctor. Understand and deliver a specific part of treatment plans, monitoring patient for reactions or side effects.

Duties to include:

  • Manages hearing aid distribution, programing, and fitting hearing aids per hearing prescription orders. Supports patients and care givers by providing hearing aid care education. Is comfortable working with and repairing hearing aids, troubleshooting technology, and educating patients of hearing aid use.
  • Conduct diagnostic comprehensive hearing evaluations, assessments, and hearing technology distribution
  • Execute a treatment plan through counseling and education
  • Establish rapport with, and gather history from, patients: conduct audiometric testing; counsel patients; and make recommendations for hearing aids
  • Fit hearing aids and assist with any adjustments, questions or problems
  • Create ear impressions, ear molds, and order instruments
  • Program hearing aids
  • Maintain documentation and patient files
  • Own assigned schedule to maximize the ability to help patients hear through opportunities
  • Support and coach all team members to achieve practice goals and generation of opportunities

One of the following certifications must be acquired within one year of hire: American Board of Audiology Certified (ABA); or Competence in Audiology (CCC-A); or Fellow of American Academy of Audiology (FAAA).

Education

  • DLD Audiology required

Certification/Licensure

  • Hearing Aide Specialist VA license required
  • Audiologist License VA required
