Flanker Kitchen + Sporting Club is seeking an AV Technician passionate about delivering seamless audio-visual experiences. You should excel in fast-paced environments, be quick to solve problems, and have strong AV tech knowledge. Experience with Resolume, grandMA3, Karafun Karaoke, love sound balancing and troubleshooting systems such as golf simulators and gaming setups is a plus. You’ll also handle AV setup for major sporting events.

Position Summary

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and breakdown of all video, audio, and lighting equipment used to enhance the guest experience at the venue. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and professionalism while ensuring seamless execution of events, performances, and day-to-day venue operations. The AV Technician will work closely with guests, performers, and staff, always maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance in accordance with Company standards.
  • Anticipate and fulfill AV needs, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction at all times.
  • Set up, operate, and break down all video, audio, and lighting equipment, including but not limited to microphones, projectors, speakers, cameras, and stage lighting.
  • Perform sound checks, EQ balancing, and lighting adjustments for DJs, bands, and special events.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted guest experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all AV equipment and storage areas.
  • Immediately report any equipment malfunctions, breakages, or damages to management.
  • Provide technical support during events, assisting performers, event coordinators, and staff as needed.
  • Operate soundboards, lighting consoles, and visual displays during events or regular venue operations.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and properly store AV equipment after use.
  • Ensure all electrical and mounting systems meet health and safety regulations.
  • Continuously identify and recommend more efficient AV solutions to enhance the guest experience.
  • Collaborate with the team and assist other departments when necessary.
  • Set up and manage AV needs for major watch parties, including fights, playoffs, and other key sporting events.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain the Karafun Karaoke system in the karaoke rooms, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
  • Troubleshoot and operate the golf simulators and gaming systems in the interactive space, resolving any technical issues that may arise during guest use.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • Previous experience 2 years +, as an AV Technician, preferably in a live event, nightlife, or entertainment setting.
  • Proficiency with Resolume software.
  • Strong working knowledge of grandMA3 operating systems.
  • Ability to set up and EQ sound for DJs, bands, and live performances.
  • Strong understanding of power, audio, visual, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure and ensure events run seamlessly.
  • Familiarity with Karafun Karaoke systems and the ability to troubleshoot any technical issues that arise in karaoke rooms.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot golf simulators and gaming systems in the interactive space.
  • Experience in setting up and running watch parties for major sporting events such as UFC fights, playoffs, and championship games.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
