Job summary

CompucomStaffing is seeking an experienced Lead Audio Visual Technician to join our client’s onsite team in Princeton, NJ. This role requires coordinating AV activities, mentoring staff, and delivering enterprise-grade AV support for large meetings and events.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to train others in best practices and procedures. Excellent communication and on-site presence are essential.

Our client is currently seeking a qualified Lead Audio Visual Technician to join their team onsite in Princeton, NJ.

Lead Technician
  • Serve as the on-site senior AV technician and primary technical escalation point for complex conference room, hybrid event, and executive support issues
  • Coordinate daily AV activities among AV technicians, Desktop Support technicians, Facilities personnel, Network Support teams, meeting organizers, and third-party vendors
  • Lead cross-functional troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for recurring AV incidents, and drive corrective actions to completion
  • Assist management with workload priorities and resource coordination for executive meetings, town halls, large events, technology refreshes, and other high-visibility activities
  • Establish, document, and reinforce AV operating standards, support procedures, and technical best practices
  • Mentor and coach AV and Desktop Support personnel, promote cross-training, and provide structured knowledge transfer
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver recurring in-service training that improves technician readiness, service consistency, and supplemental AV coverage
  • Identify technical or procedural knowledge gaps and implement targeted training and documentation improvements
  • Serve as an AV subject matter expert and provide recommendations for room upgrades, technology refreshes, operational improvements, and support readiness
AV Operations and Event Support
  • Provide advanced audio/visual support for ETS conference rooms, training facilities, executive meetings, and corporate events
  • Plan, coordinate, and support onsite, remote, and hybrid meetings, including corporate events with 200 or more attendees using professional-quality audio and video equipment
  • Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise AV systems, conference room technologies, and collaboration platforms
  • Support live events in which presenters and audience members may be split between the presentation location and remote connections
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting during executive meetings, town halls, board meetings, and other critical business events
  • Work with meeting organizers and Facilities teams on room configuration, event setup, testing, execution, and post-event restoration
Training and Knowledge Management
  • Develop and deliver instructor-led, hands-on, and refresher in-service training for AV and Desktop Support technicians as needed or requested
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, quick-reference guides, knowledge articles, conference room instructions, and training materials
  • Conduct onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and knowledge-transfer sessions for new and existing support personnel
  • Deliver end-user instruction on conference room technology and collaboration platforms when requested
  • Assess recurring incident trends for root causes and potential elimination or standard workarounds
Technology, Asset, and Vendor Support
  • Support Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom, Poly room systems, Crestron environments, cameras, microphones, analog mixers, displays, and related presentation technologies
  • Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot Poly TC8, X50, and X70 solutions, including Poly device access and Poly Lens management tools
  • Connect and support Windows laptops, Mac devices, tablets, and mobile technologies within conference room environments
  • Apply IP networking knowledge when diagnosing AV endpoint, connectivity, and collaboration-system issues
  • Monitor and maintain AV equipment, inventories, operational health, and lifecycle activities across supported conference rooms and locations
  • Coordinate third-party vendor activities for Network Support, Crestron maintenance, equipment repair, room upgrades, and other specialized services
  • Assist with ordering AV equipment, team supplies, and department materials
Skills And Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise audio/visual technologies
  • Experience providing white-glove support to executive leadership
  • Experience supporting large corporate meetings, presentations, live events, and hybrid events
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating work across multiple technical and operational support teams
  • Experience providing technical leadership without relying on direct reporting authority
  • Advanced knowledge of sound, video, lighting, conferencing, and integrated room technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom, and related collaboration platforms
  • Experience with Poly TC8, X50, X70, Poly device troubleshooting, and Poly Lens
  • Knowledge of Crestron AV systems and integrated room-control environments
  • Experience supporting microphones, analog mixers, cameras, displays, presentation technologies, computers, and IP networking systems
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with the ability to independently prioritize competing projects and incidents
  • Proven ability to lead by influence and coordinate work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and train technical personnel
  • Strong presentation and instructional skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver effective in-service training
  • Experience developing technical documentation, SOPs, quick-reference materials, and structured learning content
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical personnel, meeting organizers, executives, and end users
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent service execution
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating effectively with the broader support organization
Wage Range

The rate for this position is between $27.75 - $37.00 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
