Description

Clearwing Productions provides technical design, production, support and technology rental services for musicians, venues, sporting events, corporate gatherings, brand experiences, performing arts centers, churches and more. We're producers, creators, designers, engineers and technicians. We're purveyors of cutting-edge pro audio and lighting equipment and production. We've deployed gear and crew across the US and all over the world! Pay range starts at $26/hr and depends on experience and qualifications.

Function:

The function of the Audio Technician is to assemble / prep, transport, deploy, operate, and maintain professional audio systems for events of all sizes and genres while providing exceptional service to our clients that upholds Clearwing’s industry-leading standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Calculates power consumption for systems, sets up generators, and understands 3-phase power.
  2. Implement Audio systems while working closely with Lead Audio Technicians and Engineering.
  3. Call truck packs in the shop and onsite.
  4. Lead a large crew and understand union/house rules.
  5. Solder and re-terminate Cat5 and BNC.
  6. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and network problems.
  7. Assemble and build processing, RF racks, and any custom racks per show requirements.
  8. Performs on site Audio rigging and can identify compromised rigging pieces.
  9. Can operate as an A2 or A3 as needed.
  10. Experience in networking, RF, com, audio processing, and advanced audio theories / practices.
  11. Understanding and implementation of the following computer software: L'Acoustics Soundivison, Network Manager, JBL Performance Manager and LAC, Shure Wireless Workbench and Rational Acoustics Smaart 9, Vectorworks Viewer.
  12. Clear and advanced understanding of audio networking including switch programming, custom switch configs, routers, AP's, IP address configs, switch-port functions, fiber modes and connection.
  13. Apply advanced signal flow through an audio system including multiple digital formats and conversions, broadcast/press feeds, delay systems, complex input schedules (large festivals & corporate events), complex monitoring systems.
  14. Read and implement show paperwork including signal routing, loom lists, input lists, detailed PA hanging specifications, rigging plots, and network topologies.
  15. Works with warehouse staff to prep, pull, pack, test, and maintain gear.
  16. Assist other company departments as work demands require.
  17. Current knowledge of industry standards and technology.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Five (5) year’s experience in entertainment audio production preferred or equivalent education.
  2. Working knowledge of audio equipment in Clearwing inventory.
  3. L'Acoustics System Fundamentals Training.
  4. L'Acoustics K Series Training.
  5. Forklift, Boom Lift, and Scissor Lift certified.
  6. OSHA 10, OSHA 30 preferred.
  7. Willingness to travel (occasionally on short notice), must have a valid passport.
  8. Valid Drivers’ License and Clean MVR.

Physical Working Conditions:

  1. Regularly bend, twist, stretch, push, pull and carry, lift 50-75 lbs.
  2. Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  3. Walk up and down stairs or ladders and comfortable with heights.
  4. Work in various temperatures and outdoor weather conditions.
  5. Work "on-call" as needed including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  6. Work long hours and overtime as required.
  7. Able to Travel (possibly with short notice).
