Job summary

Yoder & Frey Auctioneers in Texas seeks an Auction Yard Manager to oversee yard operations for all auctions, ensure accurate stock descriptions, and coordinate loading/unloading. You will lead yard staff and subcontractors, work with marketing to photograph equipment, and ensure stock readiness for sale.

The role requires hands-on outdoor work year-round, strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities, and excellent interpersonal communication to liaise with customers and haulers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of stock control experience required.
• Experience/interest in construction or agricultural equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage all yard operations to ensure smooth auctions.
• Oversee booking in of auctions stock and description accuracy.
• Coordinate loading and unloading activities safely.
• Ensure stock is prepared, photographed, and displayed on the website.
• Direct workloads of yard staff and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with marketing to photograph equipment.
• Resolve stock-related issues and coordinate deliveries with customers.

Auction Yard Manager

Job Title: Auction Yard Manager

Reporting To: Senior Vice President

Location: Sealy, Texas.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (possible weekend work at auction time)

A division of the Euro Auctions Group, Yoder and Frey have been conducting auctions of construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and agricultural machinery since 1964 with sites based in Florida, Ohio, Texas and Georgia.

About the role

Key Activities:

• Manage all yard operations to ensure the smooth running of all auctions.
• Oversee the booking in of all auctions stock ensuring accuracy of descriptions and correct procedures are followed.
• Safe coordination and control of all loading and unloading activities.
• Ensure all auction stock is suitably prepared for sale, photographed, and displayed on the company website.
• Manage and coordinate the workloads of all yard staff and subcontractors.
• Liaise with the marketing team to ensure all equipment is photographed.
• Resolve any stock related issues.
• Liaise with customers and haulers on suitable delivery and collection times.

The Person:

This role requires an organized individual with excellent problem solving and task management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to work both indoors and outdoors year-round and be physically fit to climb on and off large equipment.

The Requirements

Essential Criteria:

• A minimum of 2 years management experience.
• A minimum of 1 years stock control experience.
• Experience/interest in construction and or agriculture equipment.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable Criteria:

• Telescopic Forklift Truck License
