Job summary

CarMax is hiring an Auction Services Associate in Montgomery, IL to manage zone maintenance, vehicle prep, receiving, and inventory scanning for sale readiness. You will ensure accurate records, protect assets, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to 50 lbs., and completing CarMax-provided training. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and efficient operations across departments.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with associates across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily inventory appearance and security for smooth operations.
• Document and track incoming/outgoing inventory through shipping/receiving processes.
• Receive, prepare, and process vehicles for sale or auction with proper locator/photo handling.
• Assist with auction operations and coordination to support seamless experiences.
• Contribute to new associate training by sharing best practices and safety standards.
• Complete daily inventory scanning and reconciliation for real-time visibility.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
