Job summary

DM Injury Law in Kansas City seeks a senior attorney to lead a team of pre-litigation lawyers while handling your own PI caseload. You’ll report to the Regional Pre-Litigation GM, with paralegals handling admin and you focusing on clients, negotiations, and strategy.

You’ll guide the team, manage cases end-to-end, and drive client communication, settlements, and referrals. This is a high-impact, contingency-based role with uncapped earning potential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Missouri Bar license is required.
• Eligibility for Kansas Bar license (UBE or reciprocity).
• Two+ years of personal injury experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring attorneys is preferred.
• Client-first approach and impact on case outcomes.
• Self-direction and organization in a high-volume practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with legal technology and case management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pre-litigation attorneys.

Compensation

$200,000 – $250,000 total compensation (base salary plus quarterly performance bonus). Top performers earn above this range, and there is no cap.

About the Role

You’ll lead a team of pre-litigation attorneys in our Kansas City office while carrying your own personal injury caseload. You’ll report to the Regional Pre-Litigation General Manager and work with a dedicated case manager. Paralegals and intake staff handle the administrative work, so your time goes to clients, negotiations, and strategy.

• Keep clients informed with proactive, consistent communication
• Negotiate with insurance adjusters to maximize client recovery
• Draft demand letters, settlement agreements, and correspondence, and review your team’s work for accuracy
• Direct the paralegals and case managers supporting the Kansas City office
• Meet regularly with the Pre-Lit General Manager on career growth and strategy
• Build referral relationships that grow your book of business and your income
