Qualifications

  • Admission to Ohio Bar per Section 4705.01 of Revised Code
  • Must be able to provide own transportation
  • Probationary period is 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Presides over or represents BWC at quasi-judicial hearings (IC and Adjudicating Committee)
  • Advises business units on employer compliance and employer fraud matters
  • Prepares cases for IC hearings (reviews claims files, collects evidence, analyzes legal issues)
  • Provides legal advice & responses to inquiries from state/counties, public, legislation & officials
  • Reviews and drafts legal memoranda and work aids on jurisdiction and specific law areas
  • Handles adjudication matters involving Marine Industry Fund and Black Lung Fund under relevant laws
