Job Description

Alston & Bird is seeking an Attorney Hiring Manager to work closely with the Director of Attorney Hiring. The successful candidate will manage, implement, and oversee recruitment for entry‑level attorneys, non‑partner lateral attorneys, senior policy advisors, law student hires, on‑campus engagement, and the summer associate program in Washington, DC and Dallas.

Essential Duties
  • Strategic partner in planning and implementing summer program recruiting, entry‑level hiring, and lateral attorney/policy advisor hiring.
  • Participate in the strategic growth of both offices, working with hiring partners and partners‑in‑charge, and building relationships with external legal search firms.
  • Maintain relationships with outside vendors, search consultants, candidates, law school placement offices, and peers.
  • Collaborate with hiring partners to facilitate the Washington, DC and Dallas hiring committees.
  • Serve on the Diversity & Inclusion Committees in both offices and support the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Participate in departmental reporting to the Associates Committee.
  • Manage the Attorney Hiring budget for both offices.
  • Serve as a member of the firm’s Executive Staff.
  • Manage and mentor the Senior Attorney Hiring Coordinator for DC and Dallas.
  • Contribute to firm‑wide departmental projects as needed.
  • Travel to Dallas at least once per quarter, attend law‑school and on‑campus events, and travel to Atlanta annually; attend the biennial Executive Staff retreat.
  • Other duties as requested by the Director of Attorney Hiring and hiring partners.

Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5–10 years of experience in in‑house attorney recruitment, including proven leadership within an Attorney Hiring Team or similar function.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum for this role at this time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, and location.
