Job summary

Thomson Reuters in the United States seeks an Attorney Editor to provide expert annotated statutory and regulatory information for legal professionals using Westlaw, ProView and print products. You will perform research, analysis and writing to support up-to-date primary law content, ensure premium content, and help deliver information quickly to decision makers across financial, legal, tax and other sectors.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Exceptional editorial judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex legal material.
• Understanding of editorial production process.
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all contacts, both in and outside Thomson Reuters.

Responsibilities

• Legal Research, Analysis and Enhancement of Primary Law Content: Create editorial enhancements to help customers understand the context and developments of the law, classify legal information in the form of headnotes and other text, maintain up-to-date and accurate statutory text by analyzing and integrating enacted legislation, and review content rendered as print or electronic products for completeness and accuracy.
• Editorial Responsibilities: Meet editorial publishing schedules and quality standards, follow editorial style and standards for the department and individual jurisdictions, verify your own work and that of others as required for accuracy and completeness, and to ensure that the information is properly presented and organized.
• Individual and Leadership Development: As part of a larger team, you will attend and participate in meetings, prioritize your own work and the work of others, and take part in the employee evaluation process. Develop knowledge of Thomson Reuters Legal publications and products related to your responsibilities, and those of competitors.
