Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking an Attorney to support the Administrative License Suspension (ALS) program within the Georgia Department of Public Safety. The role involves preparing and presenting ALS cases nationwide, including hearings before the Office of State Administrative Hearings, with travel as required.

The selected candidate will handle motions, advise troopers, and contribute to legal updates and training across the department.

Qualifications

• JD required and Georgia Bar eligibility or license within 1 year of hire.
• Proficiency in legal research, writing, and analysis.
• Ability to teach, present, and communicate complex topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cases for ALS hearings seeking license suspensions for DUI drivers.
• Represents the Department in ALS hearings statewide (OSAH) in-person, video, and phone.
• Files motions in Administrative Court on behalf of troopers and officers.
• Responds to emails regarding ALS cases and DUI issues.
• Prepares PowerPoint presentations on DUI case law and ALS proceedings.
• Teaches classes at trooper school on DUI and ALS issues.
