Job summary

Freshfields is seeking an Attorney Development Manager in Boston to lead recruitment and professional development for attorneys from law school through the partnership track, coordinating the Freshfields next program and mentoring initiatives.

The role involves collaborating with Learning & Development, Recruiting, and HR to drive integration, engagement, and innovation across the US region, including summer programs and secondment opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in attorney recruiting and/or professional development within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Experience with full-cycle recruitment of summer and lateral associates.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Freshfields next program and mentor programs for pre-boarding.
• Coordinate mentor programs, monitor participation, and budget.
• Oversee lawyer integration in Boston and across US region.
• Design initiatives to increase associate engagement.
• Liaise with HR leadership and firm leadership.
• Support AI adoption and broader training initiatives for attorneys.
• Coordinate alumni engagement strategy and Boston secondment opportunities.
• Support all Boston-based associate, counsel and partner hiring activities.
• Plan Boston-specific summer associate programs and outreach.
• Manage summer associate work allocation and gather feedback.
