The District of Columbia Contract Appeals Board (CAB) seeks an Attorney Advisor to assist CAB Judges in resolving bid protests, debarments, and contract disputes. The role requires legal research, drafting recommendations, and timely motion practice.

JD or LLB from an ABA-accredited law school is required; at least one year of specialized experience. Active DC Bar membership or waiver eligibility is required upon appointment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB from ABA-accredited law school.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the LA-13 grade level.
  • Active membership in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility to waive into the DC Bar.

Responsibilities

  • Responds timely to motions, discovery disputes, protective orders and sealed evidence; handles pretrial, trial, and post-trial issues.
  • Prepares Judges for status conferences, bid protest hearings, prehearings, dispute hearings and ADR when necessary.
  • Drafts legally sound bid protest and claims decisions in a timely manner, reviewed and submitted per law and timelines.
