Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, according to specific assignments provided by the supervisor.
• Supervise clients during activities to ensure safety.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as state and federal laws.
• Report significant changes in the client's environment, behaviors, or circumstances to the supervisor immediately.
• Monitor the client environment for safety hazards and take appropriate actions to eliminate or report hazards.

Qualifications

• Must have a cheerful demeanor and a helpful attitude, especially in stressful situations.
• Ability to carry out duties effectively and support fellow workers daily.
• Personal assistance services as defined in TAC 40 Chapter 97.2, performed by an unlicensed person at least 18 years old who demonstrates competency.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
• Complete required training and meet competency standards.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and perform various physical activities over 75% of the shift.
• Ability to recognize different sounds and exercise patience, tact, and confidentiality.
• Work under minimal supervision, recognizing the importance of accuracy due to potential serious consequences.
• Ability to observe changes in a client's appearance, attitude, and condition.
