Responsibilities
- Assists clients in activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, according to specific assignments provided by the supervisor.
- Supervises clients during activities to enable safe functioning.
- Maintains compliance with all At Home Health policies, procedures, guidelines, and all state and federal laws and regulations.
- Immediately reports significant changes in the client’s environment, behaviors, or circumstances to the supervisor.
- Monitors client environment for safety hazards and takes appropriate actions to eliminate or report hazards.
Qualifications
- Requires a pleasant, cheerful demeanor and a helpful attitude, especially in stressful situations.
- Ability to effectively carry out duties, cooperate, and support fellow workers daily.
- Personal assistance services as defined in TAC 40 Chapter 97, performed by an unlicensed person at least 18 years old demonstrating competency.
- Must complete required training and demonstrate understanding of detailed oral and written instructions.
- Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects or people.
- Physical requirements include bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of the shift, with sitting about 25% of the time.
- Ability to recognize differences in sounds, exercise patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality.
- Work with minimal supervision, understanding that errors may have serious consequences.
- Ability to recognize changes in a client’s appearance, attitude, and condition.
