Job summary

The Wheeling Park Commission's Oglebay Park is seeking an energetic individual to promote and engage guests while helping plan, design, and coordinate events across the park property.

The role requires a cheerful, outgoing personality; the ability to dress in character costumes; and the flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays with strong guest service and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Create and coordinate memorable events for guests of all ages.
  • Dress up in character costumes, as needed.
  • Ensure proper supplies acquired for all events.
  • Set up and clean up events.
  • Work with the recreation manager to ensure events meet standards.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude and resolve guest issues.

Summary

Individual will have the opportunity to promote and actively engage guests of all ages, while helping to plan, design, and coordinate events throughout the park property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Create and coordinate memorable events for guests of all ages
  • Outgoing and fun personality
  • Dress up in character costumes, as needed
  • Ensure proper supplies acquired for all events
  • Set up and clean up events
  • Work directly with the recreation manager to ensure all events meet the standards of the commission
  • Works a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees
