Position Overview

This position performs a variety of routine tasks including work in the kitchen, stores, patient tray line, employee cafeteria, and dish and pot washing areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Experience: Food Service experience

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The following are general responsibilities of this role. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

1. Prepare and cook foods for patients, employees, and catering, including measuring, mixing, and monitoring food temperatures.
2. Assist in assembling and serving patient and non-patient meals, including stocking tray lines and serving in cafeterias.
3. Clean and sanitize dishes and pots.
4. Operate and maintain the cash register, ensuring balances.
5. Set up and replenish the salad bar; maintain cafeteria cleanliness.
6. Perform clerical duties related to patient service.
7. Assist in cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas.
8. Understand the ages of patients served and apply this knowledge when necessary.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Employees must meet the following physical demands, with accommodations available as needed:

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
