Our purpose is to create a safe and reliable world, and our mission is to deliver assurance through precise technical and professional services.
The ATS Houston office is seeking a hands‑on Lightning Protection Technician to support our growing Lightning Protection group.
This is a field-focused position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, working outdoors, and being part of a technical team. The Lightning Protection Technician will work alongside Project Managers, Consultants, Engineers, and other field personnel performing inspections, repairs, installations, testing, and retrofits of lightning protection systems on commercial buildings and industrial facilities.
Our work includes air terminals, main conductors, down conductors, bonding connections, grounding electrodes, connectors, fittings, and other components associated with complete lightning protection systems.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with construction, electrical, roofing, mechanical, maintenance, installation, or skilled‑trade experience who wants to build a long-term technical career. Previous lightning protection experience is a plus, but we are also interested in strong hands‑on candidates who are willing to learn.
This position starts as a hands‑on field role with the opportunity to grow as experience and technical knowledge develop. Lightning Protection Technicians who demonstrate reliability, strong technical ability, safety awareness, and leadership can take on increasing responsibility within the Houston operation.
Growth opportunities may include advanced lightning protection inspections, leading field installations and repairs, developing working knowledge of NFPA 780 and UL 96A, project coordination, estimating support, and eventually managing your own lightning protection projects as a Project Manager.
